TRUE is the focus of a system designed to change the cycle of the materials that the company generates as waste, pursues the goal of zero waste.
It is a strategy to eliminate the pollution of air, water and land which is deteriorating the health of the planet and the people.
The management of TRUE is carried out by the GBCI (Green Business Certification Inc.)
The GBCI is an organization that recognizes the performance and the sustainable practices of the industry at the global level, are aware of other certifications administered by them HERE.

7 requirements to achieve Certification, TRUE Zero Waste
There are 7 requirements for Certification TRUE
- The project must have a policy of zero waste.
- The project has achieved a 90% reduction of waste during the past 12 months.
- The project complies with the rules and regulations of federal, state and local waste, recycling and the collection, management and processing of materials.
- The project has documented the 12 months where it reduced the 90% of the waste.
- You must update the evidence annually with the GBCI of the diversion of waste to maintain the certification.
- Every material that goes to the site must not exceed a level of contamination of 10%.
- The company presents a case study of the initiative zero waste which will be published on the website of TRUE Zero Waste.
The Certification is achieved by meeting the 7 requirements and achieve a minimum of 31 points of the categories.

Projects that you can obtain the Certification TRUE
Applies to all types of project that is in operation, it can be:
Businesses, schools, government buildings, non-lucr, etc
Process to get the Certification, TRUE Zero Waste
- Register the project and make the corresponding payment.
- Implement strategies and to collect performance data for 12 months.
- Send evidence for a revision of the GBCI.
- Visit a GBCI Assesor that will validate the strategies.
- Is issued the final report, and if the outcome is favorable, the project obtained certification, TRUE Zero Waste.
